Our First Trip To The Mountains

This winter we felt the kids were old enough now to enjoy a trip to the NC mountains. We managed to find a cabin on the internet that was awesome and plannned a long weekend. Fortunately, there was snow on the ground when we arrived (a first for the kids) and we played all day until the snow melted.

The scenery was incredible and it was the most relaxed I have been in a while. (the IPA and cigar may have helped!)

We booked a half day at Hawksnest which is the areas largest snow tubing resort.

All together?

We did get together @ Berts in Rock Hill, SC this year to celebrate Berts engagment to Bobby! Top Left to right Trish, Bert, Jackie. Me, Kathy and Tom.

Family Dinner

Here is the clan captured on a rare event, the whole family out to dinner! Hunter, Carson, Brianna, Katie & Gabrielle, Ashleigh and Julia.

Moms Tree

After tireless efforts, we were able to plant an memorial tree in Highland Creek (Mom's and our neighborhood) The money was raised by a social group called the Golden Girls that mom founded. Many friends and family were present on that brisk December morning. The tree was planted along the main parkway near the road for all to see. 

Decorating Crew

We all got together to decorate the tree for the holidays. From left to right Bert, Bobby, Ashleigh, Jessica and Coby. I have been working with the homeowners association to get permanant power installed for christmas lights.
